I would think it would be safer to back into a space when you first get there.. you have already been out in the row and know what other cars are doing. You are fairly blind backing up.. you can't see if someone is driving down your row until you pull out to where your front windows are visible. If you back 30+ cars up every night you're going to get really good at it. IMO it's easier to back INTO the space, especially so with bigger cars as they are too big to back out. Also, backing into a space gives you full vision of the car park around you for the entire time rather than having to back out blind until you get level with the back of the adjecent cars. Geo . How to Derestrict a 4-Stroke 50CC ScooterThe speed of your 4-stroke, 50CC scooter is restricted by a small washer found in the scooter's variator system. Removing this washer will derestrict the speed, allow your scooter to accelerate quicker and travel faster. Accessing the washer requires several basic hand tools and a rudimentary understanding of how to disassemble your scooter's variator system. Derestricting your 4-stroke 50CC scooter is an accomplishable task with the right tools and know-how. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Impact wrench Strap wrench Socket wrench Step by Step : 1 Detach the kickstart from the variator system. It is attached to the system by a pin that is tightened into place with a small bolt. Loosen the bolt and pull the pin and you can remove the kickstart from the scooter. 2 Open up the variator system. In some 50CC scooters, this will require you to first remove the intake case. The intake case is the plastic molded piece to which the kickstart was attached. It is held in place by two to three bolts. If your scooter does not have an intake case on its exterior, you will simply need to unscrew the six bolts that hold the lid of the variator case in place. The variator case looks like a flattened hot dog, long, thin and somewhat tubular. Three of the bolts are on the top of the lid, three are on the bottom. 3 Disengage the front pulley wheel from the pulley system. The wheel is held in place by a bolt secured through the center of the wheel. You will either need to secure the wheel before attempting to remove the bolt by hand, or you will need to use an air-powered impact wrench. Secure the wheel by wrapping the strap end of your strap wrench around the wheel and positioning the handle of the wrench underneath the rear pulley wheel. 4 Extricate the washer from its position around the front pulley rod. This washer restricts the speed of your scooter by adding space between the pulley belt and the pulley rod, preventing the belt from pulling on the rod at its maximum capability. 5 Put your variator system back together. Tips & Warnings Reregister your scooter if you find that its top speed increases past 30mph. Though removing the washer doesn't increase the CCs of your scooter, it does allow your scooter to travel at a faster top speed. If this top speed crests 30mph, it may require you to reregister your scooter with the DMV in states that have a speed maximum for 50CC scooters.

Removal of this washer will allow your scooter to accelerate faster and operate at a greater top speed. In order to access this washer, you must remove the intake case and variator case lid. This will give you access to the variator system. Once inside the system, taking the governing washer off your scooter requires you to first remove the front pulley wheel in your variator to gain total access to the washer. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Impact wrench Socket wrench Strap wrench Step by Step : 1 Disconnect the kickstand of your scooter. The kickstand is attached to your scooter by a small metal pin that is tightened by a bolt. Crack the bolt and pull the pin partially out and you will be able to remove the kickstand. 2 Unscrew the two or three bolts holding the plastic molded covering to which the kickstand was attached. This covering is the intake cover. Removing it will reveal the variator system. 3 Unscrew the six bolts. Hold the metal, flattened, cylindrical lid onto the case, revealed when you removed the intake cover. This is the variator case. Removing the six bolts will allow you to remove the lid, giving you access to the pulley system and governing washer. 4 Detach the front pulley wheel from the variator system. Use an impact wrench to remove the bolt holding the wheel in place. An impact wrench is an air-powered socket wrench. 5 Extricate the small washer from the front pulley rod. This washer acts as the governor of your scooter, limiting the variator system's ability to perform at full capacity and dropping your scooter's acceleration and top speed capabilities. 6 Put your scooter back together, starting with the front pulley wheel, the lid of the variator case, the intake case and finally by reattaching the kickstand. Tips & Warnings If you do not have access to an impact wrench, you can secure the front wheel with a strap wrench by wrapping the strap around the wheel, tightening it and then placing the handle of the wrench beneath the rear pulley wheel. This should hold the wheel in place sufficiently for you to remove the bolt, holding it in place with a regular socket wrench. Removing the governor will increase your scooter's top speed, potentially past the 30 mph maximum speed for 50cc scooters that exists in most states. In order to remain legal, you will either have to operate your scooter at under 30 mph or re-register it as a larger class motorcycle. This will require you to acquire an M class license if you don't already have one.
